This is a 1992 A&E documentary from their "Time Machine with Jack Perkins" series on the Cuban Missile Crisis. It has lots of footage of Castro at a gathering of historians to discuss the Crisis, talking about his thoughts at the time.

@LnzyHou Years later, I found a database record that my father had purchased a handgun during these thirteen days. He probably figured he was going to have to defend his family.
We went to church every night to pray for peace. Although I couldnβt understand the implications, our mom cried a lot which was horrible.
@LnzyHou I'm always amused by people who complain about how bad things are now. They didn't live through the 1960s.
@WordsmithFL @LnzyHou My mom designed the house we lived in an uncle built it. It had an odd feature reminiscent of that time. A small bomb shelter behind a metal door in the back of a closet was maybe 6'x6' with 4ft ceiling. Only ever used for indoor hide and seek games.
