TOS fun fact ... The reason the Romulans had a Klingon ship in S3 was that the Romulan model was damaged during effects filming. They added the line about Romulans now using Klingon technology to explain the model switch.

(Presumably the Klingons got the cloaking device tech in exchange, although never stated in an episode.)
