@MLClark That's a line I wrote for G'Kar in the Babylon 5 cookbook ...He wonders if the purpose of existence is to be laughed at by the universe.
Oh, that's a good line, because one can definitely read it differently based on how far he's come in his spiritual journey. :)
@MLClark We were watching the new B5 animated movie last night (no spoilers) ... There's a scene where G'Kar discusses the purpose of existence. It came close to what I wrote in 1998.
Warning, incoming ... (1/x)
"We all must eat to survive, yet we must do so by eating other organic life forms preventing their own survival. What we have in common sets us against one another in the greatest of all life-and-death struggles ..." (2/x)
@MLClark In the animated movie, G'Kar has a lengthy scene discussing his search for an answer to "Why." Why do we exist? What does the universe intend for us? Does our life have purpose?
I'm sure JMS didn't borrow from the cookbook. More likely, it's just I was in tune with his G'Kar thinking at the time.
But the cookbook did show up in a S5 episode, so there's that. π

Oh, I'm looking forward to it! It sounds like great, wise fun. Thanks for being a part of it, however expressly or indirectly. ;)
