Last night's excitement at Pad 39A ... The lightning system worked exactly as designed. The "tail" to the left of the mast is the lightning running down the grounding wire into the ground. Great photo.

@LnzyHou After the end of the Shuttle program, we did tours for a couple years at Pad 39A. People asked me a lot of questions about the lightning system. This is a great photo showing how it works, and that it *does* work!
