Some angst in these parts last night about the #Tornado warnings that rolled through #KSC. Spaceflight Now has a photo of lightning striking the Pad 39A lightning mast, where the #SpaceX #FalconHeavy was on the pad.
This 2009 #NASA video shows how the system was designed to do just that. Constellation was replaced by SLS, but 39B still has the "rolling spheres" system. SpaceX chose to keep the Shuttle-era mast.
