On this, the annual Transgender Day Of Remembrance, I ask the Allies among us to help.
Don't sit idly by while a trans person is harassed, bullied, or attacked. Don't turn a deaf ear to insults, misgendering, or bigoted speech.
Please say something. Please do something.
You could save a life.
I think the younger generation is becoming so much more aware and just plain accepting of others.
My son, who was on the HS hockey team, and just all boy, had a friend in his group of friends, who was trans. No one cared. No one shunned the person or excluded them.
These culture wars the right tries to inflame are dying out. The younger generation isn't buying it anymore.
We still have a lot of work to do, I know. But, some of us are raising our kids right. 💜
I work in the public schools and can verify this to be mostly true. There are still way too many bigots out there, but they are declining in numbers with this younger generation.
