Read a work not long ago which theorises that out of all Earth’s species the next most likely “intelligent” one is going to be the descendants of modern spiders.
How ironic that out of all the depictions of invading aliens from horror sci-fi works Earth is probably going to produce the most terrifying looking ones to instil mortal fear into the souls of the inhabitants of other words ha-ha

I remember, it was In Immense World by Ed Yong, it’s about sensory perceptions in different animals and how they compare to ours, and no, it didn’t have a promising forecast for cockroaches in this regard
