S1 finale of the True Detective was a disappointment. No cop with years of gruesome experience behind ventures into the den of a serial killer, especially if it looks like a demonic labyrinth out of a deranged horror flick, giving up all the advantages of the chaser and basically handing his life to the fugitive on a silver platter.
That was just such a tired old dumb cliche of cop shows that it threw me off completely.
Plus I could really do without the half coherent lecture on the afterlife.
