Back in the old days today would mark the start of the unofficial 'Christmas Week', when the partying would really begin. In some ways it was a bit of a tie-in with the Twelve Days of Christmas - we'd have had the Christmas build up and now was the time to go wild & crazy, with everything up until New Years Eve still counted as Christmas
