I was actively involved with emergency preparedness training, including completing FEMA training, and I'm just stunned someone thought this action was a good idea. https://www.sevendaysvt.com/news/burlington-police-terrified-high-school-students-with-mock-shooting-41078793
@TrueBloodNet @TheresaVermont When someone looks up the definition of "oxymoron" "smart, compassionate lawman" needs to be used as an example. It is unfortunate that law enforcement personnel have come down to the level of used car salesmen...untrustworthy, liars, and self-serving...
@TrueBloodNet @TheresaVermont Years ago, I told a Sheriff officer that, at a minimum, LEOs needed to have a 4 year college degree like FBI. He immediately tried to paint FBI as arrogant A-holes. No love between them.
@Victor @TheresaVermont I firmly believe that we need to revoke their permission to lie 'for the greater good' because it instills in them a false sense of infallibility. And it breaks trust w the public. And sets a bad example. The FBI can maybe lie under certain circumstances (to avoid mass murder) but it has to be a big stinking deal and a pain in the ass for them to do so.
