1st release of treated Fukushima #nuclear #wastewater complete, operator says. A 2nd round of wastewater will be released in the next few weeks after crews inspect and clean the Japanese nuclear facility. #pollution https://www.foxnews.com/world/1st-release-treated-fukushima-nuclear-wastewater-complete-operator-says
@Victor not exactly thrilled about this
@see_the_sus @peeppeepcircus Agree. "The solution to pollution is not dilution". This saying basically summarizes one of the tenets of water and wastewater treatment. This was done and continues to be done in certain circumstances. For example, Los Angeles releases wastewater that is not fully treated into the Pacific Ocean. This mindset is now being reconsidered as fully treated wastewater can be reclaimed for reuse.
It’s sad that humans can’t put themselves in the “shoes” of animals cause if we did then maybe we wouldn’t be shitting into their homes.
@see_the_sus @peeppeepcircus We have stepped in our own poop, so to speak, and reaped our rewards. Plastic pollution, leaking cesspools of poisons that have created cancer hotspots in neighborhoods...Yet, we continue to not learn from these mistakes...
@see_the_sus @peeppeepcircus To give you an indication of the enormous quantity of wastewater that Los Angeles sends to the Pacific Ocean which can be treated for reuse take a gander at this proposed engineering project: https://watercollaborativedelivery.org/project/hyperion-advanced-water-purification-facility/
