To look for corruption.
First, look to who is funding campaigns for a candidate.
Look to see what money they personally have, where it comes from, and what they invest it in.
Look to see what they promise, and to whom.
Look at how often they keep promises, and to whom.
Don't look at their speeches, or slogans, or current promises for the future.
Don't look at whether they're the party you support. Don't look at whether they claim to like what you like.
