@VaKnow22 Take a deep breath. You can be kind to yourself.
I deal with depression. In a bad episode, the best thing I can do for anyone is to be a little kinder to myself at that time.
@kmwarfield
Do you know what, until you said that I had not even considered the possibility of being kind to myself.
Thank you so much, that message has just stunned me. Why didn’t I manage to see that?
That’s decided, I’m going to be kind to me!
Expect to see a mention in my next blog
Thanks again🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@VaKnow22 I'm 54 and learning things about myself. In some ways, I'm a stranger to my own mind.
Taking care of me isn't taking away from others. I can't take care of them if I'm falling apart.
I now have 3 self-care things I do every morning without fail. They're small, but they matter to me.
@kmwarfield
Maybe I need to develop a self care routine.
@VaKnow22 Mine's pretty simple. I do a guided meditation for 1 minute via my apple watch. Put on some essential oil/perfume that I like (aromatherapy's a good thing). And I draw a card from an oracle deck I purchased in March. There's never been a day where the card wasn't something I needed to hear.
@VaKnow22 The 3 things take maybe 5 minutes, tops. It doesn't have to be an hour long thing.
Pick 2 or 3 small things that make YOU feel good. It could be writing something positive in a journal, or even a good morning toot. It doesn't have to be what I do.
This is about you and what makes you feel calm, no one else.
@kmwarfield
Ok I’m going to have a think about a few little things that I can do to improve my self care.
Thanks SO much for the advice, I really appreciate it.
@kmwarfield
Did you really? I don’t think anyones ever done that for me. Thank you!
