I am spending too much time watching the baby monitor cams on the feral kitties. they are so sweet. I left toys out for them and tonight I got to see 5 of them comfortable enough in our patio to play with them.
They run when they see me, but at least for now I know they have a food source, a shelter available, and can feel safe enough to play.

@Uppitywomyn feral kitties can be tamed. It takes a vast amount of patience. Their curiosity is usually what makes the connection. When I was a kid, I used to sit in the grass, outside. I'd wiggle my fingers. Feral kitties can't seem to resist that.

@AlbertCashiersCousin We tried with this group. we were able to bring in a batch of 6 just before the pandemic and got them homes.

I got bitten pretty bad and these are very leary. I am going to TNR them, but its hard to do more as all shelters in our area are full and have been advising me to leave them be

@Uppitywomyn I've been bittten bad, as well, by reaching to ttouch when cats were unfamiliar and facing each other. Better to wait until things grow really familiar to touch. Cats can whack pretty good and can bite even worse. had a pretty good welt from a bite from my own darned cat who thought I was the cat from outside. Sometimes they have very little accurate sense of distance. They just see things moving and jump.
