Interesting. A big tree on public land came down on our neighbor's house this morning. A County crew was just out here. They looked at it and left without doing diddly. Life in a red state.

@Blueway Time has offered an explanation. The tree pulled down the house electric drop....but didn't break it. The county boys weren't going to mess with live juice. The utility people were just out and cut power to their house. It will STAY cut until the county clean up the mess. Several days at least.

We have all their perishables in our fridge and storage freezer now....and I suspect we'll have house guests,

@TwiHusband You seem like a very nice person to live next to. I hope there isn't much damage to the house.

@Blueway There doesn't seem to be (according to them). The problem is the son in law's car. It's buried under the tree's foliage. He parked it and went in the house about 30 minutes before the tree dropped.

They're going to try and tough it out with a dinky generator, but I told them we have hot showers and a working washer and dryer, whenever.

@Blueway Thing is, they're a multi-generational house hold. Grandparents, parents, and three kids. Grandparents and the kids were in Florida on vacay. They evacuated, but won't get home until tomorrow. When that happens, things may change.
