Reaching that stage where we're going through my late MIL's stuff. Found this in the bottom of a dresser drawer. It's made of thin wood, about
3.5 inches across. Anyone got a clue? We don't.

@TwiHusband It's a bit of an oddity.
It is possible that it held face powder. I have seen reusable covers similar to that in old makeup kits in museums. The powders were sold in tins and those tins were set into capped dishes like that
Think in terms of a big powder puff being used with it
