@LnzyHou @TwiHusband Was it John/Mathew that wrote according to the words directly from God? How long after God's torturous death did this allegedly occur? Why did it take the APOSTLES 30-90 years after his death to write their versions? Didn't they continue to spread his word after his death? What or who had them decide to write when none of the apostles, as I'm aware of, were educated? We'll never know as the Vatican controls whatever info they have. BTW, why does the Vatican have control?

It's a good question, but in the immediate aftermath of the crucifixion, I expect that the followers were torn between "Wow, we really wasted the last three years" and "The heavens are going to open up and spit down fiery rain IMMINENTLY!!!"–in neither of which cases would writing down the Life and Sayings of Jesus seem very profitable.

As the core message that would become Christianity got solidified, the primary mode of transmission was likely oral;

...probably individual sayings *were* written down, so as not to be forgotten (and probably mixed up with other sayings from various sources), but these proto-gospels likely got superseded once more structured and (apparently) authoritative accounts were written, and so do not survive (though the Gospel of Thomas may preserve their general character). There's no evidence of any biographically-structured account preceding the Gospel of Mark, though.
