One friend often has headaches. He did not get a GP appointment. The GP called him, my friend told him that he read that sumatriptan might help (very specific indication for migraines, not a general headache medication), and without further questions whether he possibly can have migraine, the GP prescribed this drug. Five minutes, that was. I don't blame the GP - they are paid now 20% less per patient, so don't have time for individual problems.
@ToruOkada Oh Chingford, what were you thinking???
Another self-employed friend was moved from tax credits to universal credit. He was told, that unless he has profits of £1500 per month, he will be kicked off from UC. So, you can earn not only too much to not qualify for social security, you can also earn too little.
