The bathroom sink was slow to drain. My husband thinks we need a new sink.
Me: *disassembles stopper mechanism and clears out a huge gross mass of gunk*
Is it too early for a drink?
@TomeReader
Note to all: If your bathroom sink is draining slow, 90% of the time, this is the issue. PSA brought to you by this retired plumber.
Well done, Tome
@Reuven @TomeReader 10% of the time it is legos.
@TomeReader Good job! We need more people who understand basic home maintenance cuz there just aren't enough tradesmen around to hire for small things.
P.S. ex husb took acetylene torch to loosen nut on bottom of toilet tank. Didn't tell me until I got everything back together with new innards I was off buying, and the invisible thermal crack in the tank leaked all over upstairs bathroom. Did I mention EX husb? Yeah, I left him my tools in hopes girlfriend needed home repairs. LOL
@attilatheblond
That sounds like a nightmare! Very nice of you to leave the tools.
@TomeReader LOL it was the end of my 'play nice no matter what' stage of life.
@TomeReader I have long hair. Can confirm it's usually a gross mass of junk, often with my hair as the binding agent. 🤢
@TomeReader Makes me think about the poor Russian conscripts, from very rural Russia, who stole sinks and toilets from Ukrainian homes and shipped them home to a Russia still living in the 1800s. They thought it was the fixture that made indoor plumbing happen.
@TomeReader Remote control for television started working erratically. My brother thought we needed a new TV. I put 3 fresh AA batteries in. (yes, he's a dork)
