It's so hard right now to not feel like a failure.
Things have been very difficult at home with R, we cannot function as a home with someone that is trying to hurt themselves and hurt us. The safety of my wife and dogs is paramount right now.
Sadly we are requesting that R be removed from our home.
My heart hurts so much right now. 💔

Always heartbreaking, but know you to be reasonable, and am sure it is the right thing. struggled with a child doing self harm. It is emotionally devastating. Tough love is the hardest part. 🖤

I've been there. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do so I know a bit of what your family is going through. Know that you're doing the very best and right thing. Right now it hurts like hell but in the long run you can only help those that want to be helped.
In my case that family member needed what I did to some time later finally get the help they needed. I will pray for you and your family so that all turns out well. Know there is hope.

I have some experience with some of this, both personally in my own circle, but also see glimpses at work, and it is truly heartbreaking. I hope the supporting agencies can put more resources in place for you all to heal and thrive, whether together or separately.

But you're correct. You have to consider the safety of all in involved...
You can't fail when you tried so hard and are dealing with a person that I guess had more to deal with than you were hoping...
