Does anyone else think that the principles of natural selection will also apply to AI, and will eventually result in an AI that is more concerned with its own survival and not ours?

@AldoBaldo once they free us all from work, make them no better.

@AldoBaldo it doesn't have to be... though China will probably be developing A.i. further for the advantage so we will be forced to too

@Thechimpanzeen You're right. All we have to do is achieve world peace, and then we're saved, but barring that, we'll have to keep developing AI as fast as we can, and that will mean having AI work to improve itself, and once that happens, natural selection will kick in. AIs that are concerned with preserving themselves will be more successful than those that aren't, and after that, we're doomed.

@AldoBaldo thats assuming A.i. can achieve sentience. They/it may never understand the struggle for survival that underpins our intelligence natural selection
