The annual Banished Words List is back, and this time it's calling on people to remove "imprecise, trite and meaningless words" like "gaslighting" and "quiet quitting" from their vocabulary.

@TeelaResists i agree 'quiet quitting' is bull shit. however, gaslighting is a great term to explain a phenom that's been going on for a long time. there was even a movie made about it decades ago. why would they want to remove a word that describes a specific abusive behaviour?

@TeelaResists It seems to me saying "gaslighting" is a "meaningless, trite, or imprecise" word is itself gaslighting.
