@Rousse guh, and that's how they get them. Indoctrinating them with "edgy" sites and making that stuff seem "funny". Sickening. The internet is such a dangerous place for impressionable people.
@Tail Yeah. It was very depressing to hear her talk about it. He’s a kid who’s markedly small for his age and has some very specialized talents. I can imagine it could all have been very isolating for him, and he is just the prime age to search for someplace to be cool and kinda cruel/rebellious. Really hoping it’s just a horrible phase and he comes out of it without breaking his family’s hearts.
@Rousse hard to say. The longer it goes on, the deeper that behavior and those attitudes root themselves in. I sincerely hope he finds his way out of it, and soon. Sadly, the catalysts for change are seldom gentle.
@Tail Agree. Sad… 🫤
@Tail I know of a woman whose tween-age son started on that path. Haven’t seen her in months but I know it was tearing her up at that time. She was fairly sure his contact came straight from his internet browsing. It definitely wouldn’t have come from her, his sister, or any family friends.
