The other day, while riding public transportation, I noticed an older man tapping his cane in rhythm to music only he could hear.

He got more into it and pulled the cane across his body and began to play it like a bass.

He rocked out, fully immersed in his musical memory.

I haven’t enjoyed a concert so much in a long time.

May he always rock on.

It was wonderful—such a meaningful vignette and I wondered how many people on the train even noticed.

@Minholkin I've taken lots of busses and seemed some wholesomeness and tbh most people seemed put off by the fact that there was even anything going on. Or at least nobody reacted, nobody smiled. Just blank, thousand-yard public transportation gazes.

Shame. I'ma be eccentric as heck when I get up there.
