Your friendly CoSo neighborhood dog is signed up as an Election Judge.

@CanisPundit I'm curious about how the vetting process goes for choosing election officials. Is it extensive? Robust?

I'm not questioning your ability, I know you will do your job with integrity and fairness. What I'm wondering is how secure and safe the selection process is.

To put it bluntly, can they/do they screen out "less capable" candidates?

@Tacitus_Kilgore I'm in Illinois. I haven't been "screened" yet. We'll see. I'll prolly post about the process. Stay tuned.

Thank you for doing this service!

Its possibly THE most important Job in elections. You guys get to decide which votes do count!

I'm an inspector. So things that are not clearcut or easy to determine get moved up to judges to make the final decision.

In NYC you get training and you get paired with experienced folks in a bipartisan team. Its a bit intimidating for about the first hour or so then you realize the training you received prepares you.

Good luck!

@Bliss Many thanks to you as well. And thank you for your description of how things are done in NYC. I am finding this part of the process quite intriguing and would really enjoy learning more. Because you know, knowledge and all that. 😁 @CanisPundit
