Ukraine’s counteroffensive is struggling because it has too many troops in the wrong places, U.S. and other Western officials told The Times.

The main goal of the counteroffensive is to cut off Russian supply lines in southern Ukraine. But instead of focusing on that, Ukrainian commanders have divided troops roughly equally between the east and the south, the U.S. officials said.

Every time I see one of these articles, I want to scream "Did you check with @Render before posting this, you dim-witted fart-sniffers!?!"

IMO, much of the "according to U.S. and other Western officials" is an immediate signal to stop reading - 'cause it's VERY likely those "sources" don't know jack shit about:
1) The actual situation on the ground
2) Ukraine's goals (like they'd tell us anyways, after all the leaks)
3) Military tactics in general

@catlynne333 @Render
Even $$ says half the "sources" are civvies looking for an endorphin rush, or some wannabe strategist that wouldn't know how to run a quartering party or squad level action, let alone large-scale strategic engagements.
