Each time I walk past yet another loud, dangerous, ugly road swarming with cars, it's like a punch in the gut.

A reminder things aren't as they should be. A reminder our society wasn't built to maximize human safety, happiness, & well-being.

I see quieter, prettier, safer versions of these places, bustling w/ people - lots walking, some on bikes, some in wheelchairs, the occasional one in a low-speed forklift - & the occasional electric train passing on grade-separated track... free from cars.
