@SuzE43_ And I was born just north in Iowa. It's been seven years since I've been back there, and I have no plans of ever going.
@BlueVoter24 Can't say that I blame you. Out if the blue, I had two inquiries about buying my business, this week. I'm not ready to sell, but nice to know there is interest. Someday, I will sell my business, and my acreage, and move to a BLUE state. I've had it!

@SuzE43_ Yes, three bros. Two live back there, one in New Mexico.
@BlueVoter24 Do the Iowa brothers keep a close watch on your ma?
@SuzE43_ More or less, but she has grand kids up the ying, some live quite close, so yes though she does live alone they do keep an eye on her.
@BlueVoter24. That's good. I can tell you from my own experience, caring for both of my parents, at the end of their lives, stay in touch. By letter or phone, it is so important to them to know they are thought of, and loved. Even if you are not there, in person. I had no regrets, with either parent. My Mom and I had a horrible relationship, she was an alcoholic, and I was an unruly teen. We made peace about a week and a half, before she died. No regrets!
@SuzE43_ That's a good thing. Yes, we write regularly. Like you, ma and I never had a good relationship, as we are both nuts. But we do write, and make the best of it. I don't like going back there, and the last time I did it was not pretty. So we'll just have to see.
@SuzE43_ I'm not surprised. There is always interest in land. I'm in a bit of a bind though, as far as visiting the old home town. Ma just turned 92. I haven't seen her in seven years, and I can foresee problems in that regard.
