Every time I try, the app closes. I'll keep trying, but my Twitter avi would really help me find my friends.

If you're trying from the android app. I'd suggest opening CoSo up in the browser on your phone, then upload your picture there. To do that, just click on your name or picture and you can edit your profile from there.
Some phones seem to cause the app to close when trying to upload a picture.
