Watched Bradley Cooper's film Maestro last night and didn't enjoy it. I thought the plot lines were messy (I know Bernstein led a complicated and convoluted life), the dialogue limp and I missed the joy of Bernstein - his own music and his work with orchestras. Not a film to watch twice.
Not the worst film I saw in 2023 - that would be Daliland which tied with A Haunting in Venice. Both dreadful.
I am gearing up - doing exercises and cutting down the wine - to watch Killers of the Flower Moon which goes on for days, apparently (well 3 hours and 26 minutes). Didn't they teach Scorsese to edit?
