Y'all, I read yesterday they found the cause of Parkinson's... it's a gut bacteria. Scientists think they can treat it better and eventually cure it now that they know cause. We thought Dad had this for a while but it turned out to be water in his brain. So thankful this could give hope to so many families 😊

@StarlightEmber @LnzyHou correlation does not imply causation. That said, gut bacteria and neurological disorders being related or correlated is a thing and supporting good gut bacteria is a promising as ancillary, not primary treatment. Fermented foods aid good gut bacteria: sauerkraut, kimchi, nato (fermented soy beans) …

@CanisPundit @StarlightEmber

I’m not suggesting probiotics can cure Parkinson’s. There are immeasurable reasons to maintain a healthy gut. Daily probiotic is easy habit.

@LnzyHou my response was to @StarlightEmber for using the word “cause”. It is a common misconception in reader interpretation of science reporting and unfortunately sometimes in the science reporting itself. As you’ve observed, unless I’m being goofy I aim for clarity and fact-based content.
