PSA on Information Overload 💻🖥📺📚📰

"When critical thinking isn’t enough: to beat information overload, we need to learn ‘critical ignoring’

Critical ignoring is the ability to choose what to ignore and where to invest one’s limited attentional capacities. Critical ignoring is more than just not paying attention – it’s about practising mindful and healthy habits in the face of information overabundance."

@Sheree Have never heard this term, but I started instinctively practicing it a few years ago, tuned out almost all tv/video news/commentary to save my sanity. NPR and digital/print news orgs like Washington Post let me stay informed but without all the stress of those other sources

@StarlightEmber I need to practice this too. The only times I do is when I'm dealing with a situation that requires all my attention. Glad it is working for you! I'm a bit of a political junkie so this will be akin to quitting smoking!

@Sheree Best of luck to you, will be sending you good vibes 💖
