Making pizza tonight.
Pizza night!
This is the #sourdough recipe I'm using -- a new one to me, but it's the same place that makes my basic sourdough and focaccia, so I have faith.
I'll be using a combo of toppings I saw on @Netflix's #ChefsTable -- sliced red onion, pistachio. rosemary, olive oil, cheese, salt and nothing else. It's amazeballs. #cosocooks #cosorecipes
@Kirrilyfred NAAAAH... take some of the rye starter out and feed it twice with white flour, poof, new starter.
I won't remember to tell you, TBH.
But I do know THIS recipe does a pretty darn good version -- I just want to see how Alex's turns out because I like her other breads. Why not try each yourself? Easy to make pizza dough. (I only make a half batch though.)
@Kirrilyfred You can always add more starter than called for if you want things to rise a little faster in cold weather -- it makes it less "sour" because it speeds up the fermentation process.
I highly recommend the sourdough recipes of all kinds on Alexandra's Kitchen -- she simplifies the science and makes it a lot more user-friendly. People rave about my bread from her recipes!
@Snarkysteff Thank you very much. I will experiment with her recipes in the weeks to come. xx
@Kirrilyfred Her sourdough foccacia is SOOOOO GOOD. It's what I take to every party now. People love me. :)
@Kirrilyfred the pizza was amazing! Highly recommend that recipe. https://alexandracooks.com/2020/05/01/simple-sourdough-pizza-a-step-by-step-guide/
@Snarkysteff Wow, that looks great! :)
@Kirrilyfred it’s so good. The toppings are inspired by episode 1 of Chef’s Table: Pizza on Netflix. Highly recommend it if you go on a pizza making journey.
@Snarkysteff Great thanks! I have only had my starter for a couple of months, so it is relatively new to me. Scheduling has been difficult since I have a cold house. I think my best breads/pizzas will come over the next few months once it warms up in the Southern Hemisphere
