Just dropped $154 on 2 small bags of groceries. 😳 I do not know how people with kids afford things these days. A head of iceberg lettuce is over $7 in BC. Agh. Hoping for a quick(ish) rebound to the economy. 🙏

@LyndaSteele It's insane. I commented just a few days ago that I literally feel angry every time I pay for groceries. Anger! One should not feel ANGER after buying groceries. Sure, some of it is menopausal rage, but most of it is because Galen Weston and his ilk are pricks.

@Snarkysteff Ha! Well a woman told me she took two large russet potatoes to the till and they rang in at nearly 8 bucks. FOR 2 POTATOES!! She put them back. :(

@LyndaSteele That's INSANE. I'm currently housesitting on Vancouver Island (outside Duncan, live in Vic) and I have their vehicle. On the last day (December), I'm stocking up on farm veg and visiting Costco and hoping one massive splurge sees me through the new year, because city prices are so much higher than farm shops. It's absolutely profiteering. It should be illegal.

@Snarkysteff We interviewed a food distribution expert on last week's show - he said there's no evidence of that - yet. But he points out the bread fixing inquiry has been ongoing since 2015 with no resolution. So don't hold your breath looking for accountability from big grocery.

@LyndaSteele Yeah, been making my own sourdough since 2019 and it works out to under $2 a loaf for stuff that would cost $10 at a bakery. Here's to having a good cooking instinct.

But I dunno, Loblaw's profits have been insane in the pandemic. I remain skeptical. And angry!
