I think these studios backing AI are backing the wrong horse in the long run. AI still has a long way to go before it can even start competing with humans.
It’s still uncanny valley AF and audiences can tell.
@BlastBunny Which is interesting to me because I didn’t think studios could even operate without profits. I guess they’ll find that out too soon enough.
They did this with streaming as well, sunk a ton of cash into it and found out it didn’t pay off.
@Siren_six What the studio execs forget is that AI can be used by anyone. They think they can cut out a unionized workforce, but the truth is ordinary folks can cut out studios altogether, which is what happened with the advent of amateur videos on YouTube. Democratization of AI is a real disruptor.
@carmen I hope it continues to be a disruption as well in that sense because I’ve seen better content created by amateurs than the studios.

They’re eager to mobilize it. Safety is always secondary to profits.
