You’d think I’d have gotten used to it after twenty years, but no, I haven’t.
@weirdfizz I’ve learned from my own experience that grief never leaves you, you just learn to live with it. It’s the same with the living as it is with the dead. Every now and again there is a flare up. Just having one today. It’ll pass. 💜
@Siren_six I don't think I'll ever completely get past my dad's death. It's tied up in other things, related to traumas, and just... He's my DAD. There's a lot in that.
I was in therapy a couple of years ago, and the therapist told me most people don't really get past grief like they think they do. They just start ignoring it. She told me not to expect myself to get over it, but be honest with myself about my grief. So I'm passing that advice to you.
