Wendy left, not one of her workers has taken the high position on the nest, but they are defending it still.
Northern Paper Wasps are being pushed out of their habitats by European Paper Wasps, so I am very happy this little nest is surviving.
Remember- pollinators doesn't just mean honeybees and butterflies.
@Shelter A lot of the animals people don't like are among the most important pollinators, and even those that aren't are very often enriching or even creating the soil the plants need.

Which is why it's far more important to find effective treatments for the diseases they transmit than to try to eradicate them.
I have heard of programs which are looking at literally breeding malaria out of the species!
Some folk understandably find it hard to accept that an ecosystem is just that. A system. One which we mess with at our peril.
The entire planet is an organism.
It would be great if human beings in general could stop and think- am I behaving like a cancerous tumor or a leukocyte?
