As the years and experience with social media grow for me, the more and more I say "Social Media was a mistake."

The thing is though, the solutions for a working and positive social media experience is there. I don't think any platform has gotten there though.

It's not even, some are further along (see CoSo), but none have pushed the platform away from the foundations of what started all of this.
