With Melon stating he's going to start charging for users to write posts (because bots and totally not because he's hemorrhaging money). Be prepared for the Social Media pros to find their way to other, free to post because what the hell that's the point, platforms.
One of those, will inevitably be here. So get ready to mute, block, and report the posts that have nestled in there an ad for their substacks (with membership details) and merch, all of it.
They gotta get paid!
And for the record: A lot of them are here already. When Melon took over Twitter, they, like me, were refugees and found sanctuary with#CoSo.
Unlike me though, they were sleeper accounts for them. Place holders that gained them followers simply on name alone waiting for the day (or necessity) to tap those accounts and start over here.
It's already started and I'm not going to share those simply because I don't advertise for them. Plus they're blocked and reported.
@mcfate The problem is, one of these accounts parked themselves here years ago, makes a single post every 6-8 months and has thousands of followers simply on name alone. Thousands more than mainstays here.
They did nothing but create an account and everyone else did the work for them.
And now they're back putting out a feeler comment yesterday and today they're directing people to their substack. And I think it's because the melon comment on charging for writing posts did it.
@SentinelOfTruth
You can always block and ignore them. It doesn't sound from this description as though they're violating any of the terms or conditions.
"Everyone else did the work for them" sounds like a way of saying "Other people made a choice I'm unhappy with".
How's any of this a "problem"? For whom?
