I want people to have in the back of their heads while looking through all these mugshots this thought.
The look they're giving, from smiles, to stares, to anger, that look is premeditated and built upon the attitude of contempt for the American judicial system. It's the look of people that despise law, and order, and the rules applying to them.
And it's a look based of the predilection that their Republican base, feels the same way.

They believe this, and believe themselves inextricably of the in-groups. Thus, by acting against them, the legal system (in their minds) loses all legitimacy.
