I’ve been attending a local jazz jam session fairly regularly as part of my personal goals this year. Here’s tonight’s performance if you’re into that sort of thing:
The point of a police force is to protect the public safety.
If, again and again, police forces are threats to the very public safety they are supposed to protect, we might start asking whether there is something wrong with the whole model of policing that we are using, and whether a different kind of force, with different rules, different personnel, a different culture, and an entirely different attitude toward the communities they serve might be necessary.
Because what we have isn't working.

I'm a full-time software and systems engineer working at NASA (not _for NASA_—I'm not Agency—but as a contractor) on Project Artemis. It should go without saying, but I never ever have spoken, or will speak, on behalf of, or for, either my company, contract, or NASA.

Women’s rights are human rights. This seems quite obvious, and shouldn’t need to be said here in 2022, but here we are.
I have a mother, a sister, and a niece, to say nothing of friends, colleagues, and fellow citizens. I can think of no better reasons than to stand on the right side of justice. There will be no Republic of Gilead if enough of us stand up for them.
