This is a "Wild Tail"

Bandit Mama stopped by for some kibble and was lounging on the deck. Sitting next to the window and grooming herself. All of a sudden- something happened. She came alert... and started sneaking around the edge of the deck...

A new female possum was on the deck enjoying leftovers. Watch how Bandit Mama sneaks around behind her... (your narrator had a broom ready and was ready to stop any shenanigans)... what will they do?

Bandit Mama is playing it very cool, as she sneaks around the entire deck... casing the kibble and the Possum. She can't stand it and casually moseys up to the kibble on the deck... you can see her reach out her paw to snag kibble right under the Possum. Oh my!

Just another night on The Deck... two critters dining-very closely- under the stars...

Here the diners have moved apart. Ms. Possum likes the leftover wet cat food. Bandit Mama loves the Meow Mix kibble. You'll note that Ms. Possum is a very clean diner.

Now the dinner party comes to a close. Bandit Mama enjoys a refreshing drink and then leaves down the ramp. Ms Possum cleans herself once more and ambles down the stairs on the other side of the deck.

Two no longer strangers in the dark.

@webgyreuser

i just posted an adventure with a raccoon & possum... you can see here that they can co-exist. although, this could be mellow temperaments for these particular animals... we'll see.

@SatuUnelmia @webgyreuser

Does look like a great place for Night Patrol.

My 3 cats are indoors only. The feral cats that stop by will wait on the ramp or underneath the deck if a possum or raccoons are there. Then they come up for their turn. This was the first time a raccoon & possum shared the deck!

@QueenOfEverything @webgyreuser They are/were feral. 14 years ago! It was supposed to be a catch and release to have them fixed. In the meantime the feral cats were being poisoned so we decided to keep them. One is still a bit feral. He will let me touch him but jumps even when I walk by him. He really loves the back deck. The other one is super super close to me. He sits between me and anyone else in the house. They are very large for cats, bigger than a few dogs in the neighborhood! 😂
