i saw my first pokeweed last year, i saw my first million this year.

@peeppeepcircus I didn't see it much growing up (Northern Kentucky) but it's been increasing here (central North Carolina)

@Samanthabwriter I love and encourage my pokeweed but we don't have horses here. And I don't try to eat it.

@TrueBloodNet My cousin called it "forbidden fruit" and always had to be talked out of eating it as a child. Luckily, we succeeded and he survived childhood.

@Samanthabwriter nods. They do look tempting. Still, they are native and other crittars can and do eat the berries and the leaves.
