One of the things I do to maintain my sanity is to walk in parks or the woods as much as I can. I live in North Carolina, USA, and bamboo is not native here. In fact, it’s considered an invasive species and it’s illegal to plant it anymore. But there are some stands of bamboo in some of the parks and it always makes me so happy to see it. This week, the bamboo had babies.

Where are you cosonauts? Does bamboo grow where you are?

@Samanthabwriter My neighbor plants bamboo. He’s got a hedge that’s about 25 feet tall now, and about that big around I’d guess. He use to cut it down every fall but now it’s up year-round. I like it. I wish it was a bigger hedge, actually, so it would muffle more highway noise.

@williamgjones There's a pretty big stand alongside the River at a local park called RiverWalk, here in Hillsborough NC. I love to go stand in it and just breathe in the scent. So relaxing.
