And wtf is "network sentiment?" This place sure seems to suck out loud compared to Twitter. I have to be missing something here. It can't be one page with 5 columns that don't even make sense. It can't suck this bad.
@SaintBrianTheGodless If you spend some time here, it'll all make sense. The community is what makes it better than twitter.
If the extra stuff bothers you, there is an ostrich mode in prefs to turn most of it off.
The extra columns allow you to pin subjects you're interested in - very useful. Hashtags are important here.
There's apps for the phone which only have the one column.

Try posting some stuff you're interested in, or joining conversations - you'll soon see what makes it better than twitter.
