@LnzyHou @S_r_stone the majority in the State Senate fought that change - they want a delayed count so they can challenge any result they don't like. I'm fed up with it all. They brew chaos.
@S_r_stone @LnzyHou To reduce the amount of time that counting is vulnerable to attack.
It's one of the things in place to prevent cheating.
@S_r_stone Totally agree. In fact I’d add why does the process take months of campaigning? Politicians are riding around in the caboose of a train, we have the Internet now two weeks of campaigning then the vote would be so much less stressful.
Also good point.
@S_r_stone Because it would be only a matter of time before a party soldier revealed the preliminary results, thereby influencing the election outcome. @LnzyHou
@ToruOkada @LnzyHou Slippery slope argument.
You could obfuscate the counts such that no person knows enough to reveal, and make the penalty severe enough no one would brave the attempt.
There are myriad ways to interfere with elections already. "We can't improve this outdated practice because someone might misuse it" fails to convince.
Here's a better idea: Don't reveal ANY results until all are available. That screws up the media horserace coverage though.
@ToruOkada @LnzyHou No more Red Mirage or Blue Shift. Think of it. No more white knuckle election watching.
Announce the full results. Then analyze later.
No more treating elections like sports coverage.
@S_r_stone @LnzyHou No more first-past-the-post to avoid binary polarization - sorry, I got carried away.

My son in Bucks County PA is upset Governor Josh Shapiro didn’t get it changed.
