I won't pollute a different thread, that is the sum of my fears for the future of the country. But..
1)Protest votes are stupid when facism is on the ballot
2)The U.S. is a 2-party system because of plurality winner takes all voting and the primary system. But you can't fix it without leaders who believe in democracy.
3)RCV is a way people could vote their conscience without risking something much worse.
4)Only one side of our 2-party system has any interest in voting rights.
#Brexit and all of the problems it brought was enabled by misguided protest votes of people who could not conceive it would actually pass.
Voting for someone with zero chance of winning is just enabling the worst outcome of future elections not mattering.
Be realistic about any changes requiring Constitutional amendments. (If it were up to me I would start over entirely. But it isn't up to me.)
