@CanisPundit I've tried to live my life by that credo. Haven't been successful every time, but enough to know it's true.
@mcfate @SSNBubblehead I am going to go back in time and copyright the number 1.
As soon as binary numbers are invented, I can argue that I own a controlling interest in half of everything and at least a portion of almost exactly everything else.
Sadly, ideas cannot be copyrighted, only expressions.
If I write manga about Japanese schoolchildren getting invitations delivered by falcons to study to be onmyΕji at the Blue Dragon DΕjΕ, Joanne cannot sue me.
I can remember giving the stinkeye, at the age of nine or ten, at some Superman comic in which Mr. Mxyzptlk got a patent on the alphabet, so the Daily Planet was in danger of going out of business.
I forgot how he got tricked into saying his name backwards, but even at that age I knew this was idiotic.
I likewise objected to the occasion on which Superman stopped the entire Earth in its orbit for a bit to let a comet or something fly by.
"That's CRAZY! Everything that wasn't nailed down would FLY INTO SPACE!"
@SSNBubblehead and thereβs truth to that!
