I guess all of the cult members have their own reasons, still, it's kind of mind blowing to me that those in TFG's immediate orbit - every single one of them - continue to enable him. They're all aware of the penalties, but don't believe that the law will apply when it's their turn.
I'm not talking about the J6 dupes, who are being prosecuted and receiving hard time. I'm talking about educated men and women who lust to be next to the guy & in his favor. Charles Manson had nothing on TFG.

I think they expect the same lack of consequences to apply to them that apply to their cheetotoddler god. Sure, he's under indictment, but it's been a while before anyone considered prosecuting the schweinhund - partly because he's a former president, and partly because the DOJ seem terrified of an uprising if the SOB does go to prison (which, of course, he SHOULD), so the net result is the others think they can get away with a lot, uncontested.

I suspect they just never learned the First Rule of Holes, as so many seem not to have, and they reckon they're in so deep they might as well just cross their fingers and hope for the best.
Won't keep 'em out of prison, though.
