It is beyond reprehensible for the media to have been banging the "96 hours of oxygen" drum or the "we heard knocking" story for the past four days re: Titan disaster.
There are highly credentialed SMEs (I'm not one of them, just an old school boat sailor) who could have told any reporter straight away that there was no possible rescue & what that last instant would have looked like. Maybe facts are just too grizzly so they had to manufacture hope.
Or ratings.

@SSNBubblehead we knew as well, but they took great pains to drag it out and not be full of doom and get everybody's hopes up - just like the media does with everything else - sugar coat it or put a spin on it - rather than just give it to us straight. The general public can't handle reality, too fragile...
